It is used to connect two tape stripe to each other.

If the tape strip has a minor problem,in this condition usually cuts the defection part and connects it to the tape strip by slidering tape to tape.

First,push back the nuts on the tape connector in the slidering tape. Then while holding the irrigation strip firmly in the middle of the connection with one hand ,pull the nut forward again with the other hand until the irrigation strip is firmly in its place. Do the same for the other nuts
